Team 2010 Southern California PGA-Disney 1/2 Marathon
Welcome to the 2012 Southern California PGA fundraising page!
Our group of PGA Golf Professionals, family and friends are running in the Disney 1/2 Marathon on Sunday, September 4, 2011. We are trying to help raise awareness for the Folds of Honor Foundation during the 5th annual Patriot Golf Day Weekend.
The Folds of Honor Foundation provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.
Last year we were able to raise $5,700 with the original goal being $3,000.
To honor our fallen service men and women, 13 bells ring out each day at 1 pm at the Patriot Golf Club, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 13 bells represent the 13 folds of the flag that covers a coffin. We will be running 13 miles in the 1/2 marathon. This year, we are again asking for a minimum $1 per mile donation which totals $13.10 for the entire run.
